Caroline Scott

2013 Theatre Scholarship Recipient

Caroline's passion for acting consumes her, driving her to pursue it with unwavering determination. For her, acting is not just a hobby or extracurricular activity; it is an essential part of her life that brings stability and happiness. She believes that as actors, their duty is to understand people and through their performances, teach others not to judge. Acting provides a perspective that allows both the actor and the audience to delve into someone else's life. Each character Caroline portrays gives her the opportunity to learn and share a different perspective, allowing her to connect with others on stage and convey her character's objectives to the audience. The entire experience of immersing herself in a character, working with others during rehearsals, and presenting the production to a live audience is an extraordinary process that Caroline loves.

While Caroline has gained valuable experience by participating in numerous shows over the past six years, she now seeks more formal training to further develop her skills. She aims to immerse herself in the Northwestern Cherubs Program, an intensive summer program that offers a comprehensive curriculum. The program's structure, with full days of classes and nightly productions, resonates with Caroline as it allows her to focus solely on theater for five weeks. She anticipates learning from professionals and applying the new skills she acquires in the classroom to her stage performances. Additionally, she looks forward to engaging with other passionate students, believing that they can learn from each other's experiences and form deep connections. Caroline sees this program as an opportunity to receive academic training in her passion, which she can utilize throughout her acting career.
