Dallas Noble

2017 Instrumental Scholarship Recipient

Dallas has been captivated by her teacher's tales of the Aspen Summer Music Festival, envisioning it as a fantasy world rather than a mere summer program. Aspen represents a complete musical immersion, operating as a city of music with nightly concerts, abundant masterclasses, and even the presence of professional musicians among the fellow students. The program boasts high-quality instruction from world-renowned teachers like Paul Kantor and Donald Weilerstein, offering intensive private lessons, chamber group and orchestra participation, performance opportunities, and community outreach programs. The festival's numerous concerts and masterclasses provide invaluable opportunities for students to observe and learn from esteemed artists and teachers.

What appeals to Dallas the most about Aspen is the immersive experience it offers. Living among other young musicians, she would have the independence to manage her own schedule, travel throughout the town for various musical activities, and interact with professionals and peers alike. This level of immersion would push her beyond her comfort zone, motivate her, and drive her growth as a musician. Furthermore, Aspen would serve as a pivotal stage in her development, as she aspires to use music to help people and wishes to explore different career paths within the field.

By experiencing life as a professional musician at Aspen, Dallas would gain insights from individuals who have pursued various paths and are currently living successful music careers. The festival's diverse community of top musicians, including orchestral musicians, soloists, composers, conductors, and more, would provide her with a clearer understanding of the music world, help her identify her preferred career path, and equip her with the necessary skills to embark on that chosen path.
