Reese Dailey

2023 Dance Scholarship Recipient

Reese's passion for performing arts was ignited at a young age when they participated in their first musical, Oliver! The experience of auditions, rehearsals, and performing on stage left a profound impact on Reese, who found a deep connection and joy in the theater. Dancing became the centerpiece of their life, bringing indescribable feelings of happiness and storytelling. Strangers would often praise Reese's performances, reinforcing her belief that being on stage was her calling.

Currently a junior at the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA) High School Ballet Program, Reese recognizes the importance of ballet technique while keeping her training diverse. She has had the opportunity to perform in renowned productions like The Nutcracker, and she appreciates the discipline and fulfillment that comes with being a dancer. However, Reese's true passion lies in musical theater and commercial dance, and she actively seeks opportunities to explore and develop her talents in those areas.

Reese's aspirations lead her to pursue the Verdon-Fosse Professional Training program in New York City, a four-week immersive experience focused on the works of legendary choreographer Bob Fosse. The program not only offers a chance to refine her skills but also provides invaluable connections within the industry. Reese's commitment to dance is unwavering, knowing that it is an integral part of her identity and something she deeply cares about. She is grateful for the support from the Anthony Quinn Foundation to help alleviate the financial burden of pursuing her summer training and is eager to represent the foundation with dedication and gratitude.
